Hoy recordamos la confirmación del primer caso de COVID en nuestro país. El entonces ministro de Salud de la Nación, Ginés González García, confirmó el caso de un hombre de 43 años que había contraído la enfermedad durante su estadía en Europa.
El caso fue notificado por un establecimiento de salud privado de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires el lunes 2 de marzo y el aislamiento fue supervisado por agentes de salud de la ciudad. Los análisis fueron llevados a cabo por la Administración Nacional de Laboratorios e Institutos de Salud (ANLIS) “Dr. Carlos Malbrán” y en menos de 24 horas, se obtuvieron los resultados confirmatorios.
Este fue el primer alerta para todo el personal de salud. A lo largo del 2020 la información se fue completando, se fortalecieron los equipos de trabajo y se optimizaron los equipamientos sanitarios. Esto implicó también un cambio en la labor cotidiana de nuestros profesionales bioquímicos, actores fundamentales en la pandemia.
